Take Action

The tragedy in East Palestine was recognized as a call to action by rank-and-file union members, and advocates for affordable healthcare, a clean environment and strong communities. These activists have, for decades, operated in “silos,” each laboring separately. Now we’re united. Here’s ways you can show solidarity:

Write To Your Elected Leaders

Under the Stafford Act, the President of the United States can declare the train derailment in East Palestine a “mass casualty incident” site, and provide full health care coverage for any victims, as well as evacuation and relocation support.

Putting pressure on our elected leaders is important if we want to get East Palestine declared a mass casualty incident. You can show your support by writing letters to elected representatives and let them know to support declaring the derailment a mass casualty incident and getting health care to the residents of East Palestine.
